The fall of Rome is considered one of the most important events in history. For many people life was about to get much harder. To me the fall of Rome also meant the fall of government. One of the roles of government is to provide protection to its citizens, especially protection from outside threats. Once Rome fell there was no more “law” and everything turned to anarchy. For the average peasant during that time there was nothing they could do if someone or a group of people that were more powerful wanted to do harm to them.
